Calli had a great 4th birthday. At such a young age though, how can a birthday really not be great?? She was up early as usual and I made her chocolate muffins for her birthday breakfast (after a quick trip to Walmart because we were out of eggs!). Most of the day was just spent around the house, as I ended up having to take Jameson to the doctor mid-day. I had wanted to take Calli to the toy store because they give you a crown and balloon on your birthday, not to mention I had a coupon! Oh well, maybe next year. When Richard got home we let her open all her family presents we had saved up. She had gifts from both grandparents, us, Aunt Kendra and Grandma-Great. She received such wonderful gifts from everyone and is busy using them as much as possible.
After present opening, we went to Red Robin for her birthday dinner/goodbye Mom dinner (Mom was leaving the next day). Jameson was an awesome baby and slept the whole time and the girls were great too - as long as Serena has food in front of her she is a happy camper! She tried watermelon for the first time and loved it. Calli was happily looking forward to the ice cream sundae she knew was coming at the end of the meal. When they brought it out, the waiters sang happy birthday to her and with all eyes on her she got shy for the first time in her life and ducked behind Grandma. What a silly girl!
We headed home after that and used the leftover Hannah Montana cupcakes my mom had made for the party the day before to sing happy birthday to Calli again. With all that sugar in her system she was running around for an hour up in her room before finally settling down! We don't let her eat many sweets, but since it was her birthday she definitely got a little too spoiled!
Good morning Birthday Girl!
Grandma Keri reading Serena a book. Serena is not a fan of people she doesn't know, but it only took her a day to warm up to my mom. I was so happy about that!

I wanted to get a picture of Calli and her presents, but when I went to take it Serena grabbed for something and Calli turned to tell her "NO" because they were HER gifts and well, this is the photo I got.
Calli opening her Hannah Montana barbie doll from Grandma Keri and Grandpa James
Opening her Hannah Montana guitar from Mom and Dad

Three generations!! This is the first time though that there has been a BOY in the photo. And it would be the perfect picture if it wasn't blurry :(

I have figured out how to get Calli to cut out that cheeseball smile: get her to laugh! The girl can laugh on command so all I had to say was "Calli, laugh" and she started giggling and I captured her GOOD grins on camera
Happy Birthday to You!
Blowing out the candles
Ta-da! These cupcakes looked fantastic when my mom first decorated them, but for some reason they started melting (gee, I don't know why, it was only 105 degrees outside!!) so we had to put them in the fridge. The damage had already been done when we discovered it though and we called them our snow cupcakes because it looks like melting snow.
