Our baby girl has been taking lots of steps on her own lately. Her record is about six or seven steps before falling! We are so excited that she will be off and running soon. She is eager to keep up with her energetic big sister. It is impossible to capture a still picture of a person walking, but here is my attempt!

Breakfast with the Princesses!
We found out that Chick-Fil-A (for those of you who haven't heard of it, and I hadn't before moving here, it is a fast food restaurant, mostly serving chicken) was hosting a breakfast with the princesses on Saturday morning from 9-10:30am. Of course, having two daughters, one in particular who lives and breathes all things princess, we had to attend! We left a bit early and were able to beat the big crowd and get a table. For $5 Calli got a kids meal breakfast, a craft and a picture with a princess to go on her craft. Not bad!

The Perfect Photo
I used to think getting a photo of just one child was difficult. I had to time it right, get Calli to hold the pose and stay still long enough so that the flash could go off and picture take. Now that we have two little ones I realize how easy that used to be! Try getting two kids to sit and cooperate for a picture, now that is a challenge. My photo sessions sound something like this:
"Calli, go sit by your sister"
"Serena, look at Mommy!"
"Peek-a-boo!"
"Smile, Calli"
"No, Calli don't make that face. Get your fingers out of your mouth!!"
"Serena, no stay there baby!"
"Say CHEEEEEESE!"
"Okay, let's try one more time.."
It is a bit exhausting to try and get that perfect photo and I realize that I will never get it. My camera consists of twenty pictures of the kids in the same spot just to get that one that I am fairly happy with. Pretty soon I will have three kids to try and pose together, which should present even more of a challenge.

Video
Here is a video I took recently of the girls, mostly Serena. The toy is a ride on princess car that Calli received from Grandma Keri for her second birthday and nearly two years later is still one of her favorite toys. She has a little trouble sharing, but usually lets Serena use it once in awhile. Serena loves to stand behind it and push it while she walks. She is thisclose to being able to walk on her own. She has taken steps on her own many times, always two or three. She also stands by herself for a long period of time and it is just a matter of time before she is off and running. I can't wait to have two little ones running around!

The First Post
Welcome to our family blog! It will mostly be me (Nicole) posting, but maybe I can get Richard to add his two cents every once in awhile. We thought this would be an easy way for everyone to keep up with what is going on in our corner of the world. Look for pictures, stories, life updates and more to come; anything goes!
