Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. The last two years we have visited the same one and it was fun, but we decided to try a different one this year. Not only was it a little closer, but it was much better. There were more things for the kids to do and the activities were more fun as well.
We left the house around 11:30am and met a friend there too. We had a really great day, but it was definitely exhausting. I think we are all ready for a nap!!
Serena spotted the goats right away. She loves animals!
Alex and Calli getting up close and personal with the goats
We decided to eat lunch right away and afterward headed to the face painting. Calli wanted to get a kitty painted on her face.
Jameson having fun!
Serena the kitty!
I got them both to stand in a picture together, it's amazing!
The pumpkin patch is really a Christmas tree farm. I am highly disappointed by the Christmas tree farms here, but I don't know why I really expected anything. Texas isn't exactly known for their lush landscaping and forests.
The hay bale maze. Calli and Alex decided to cheat and climb OVER the bales.
Serena didn't want to go in at first, but Richard finally dragged her in there and she loved it.
Family photo while waiting for the hay ride. Of course Serena doesn't want to cooperate, why would she??

Jameson and me on the hay ride (Izzy too!)
After the hay ride we went over the park area. It was nice because there were big trees and it was very shaded. The sun here is so hot and it was literally about ten degrees cooler in the shade. It was nice to take a break. But then of course Calli wants to make "sand angels" and get all dirty!!
Serena just chillin'!

Serena liked that goat that had climbed in the tree

Time to roast marshmellows!
And of course then you have to eat them. I discovered there is less mess if you don't really toast them. Just pretend and Serena doesn't know the difference ;)

We finished the day by buying little pumpkins and painting them. Calli put about a gallon of paint on hers.

Serena wanted to eat the pumpkin, yum!
But then she decided getting messy was more fun

Howl O Scream at Sea World

Tonight we took the kids to the annual Halloween celebration at Sea World. This year's is a lot better than last year's was! They have way more fun activites for the little ones. Sea World can get kind of boring, but around the holidays it's a lot of fun because they go all out. So we dressed up the kids in their costumes for the first time and headed out! Calli got decked out in all her witch gear, complete with authentic witch shoes, witch hair bows and spider necklace. And Serena was adorable in her pumpkin costume and black and orange bows. Jameson looked cute in his black kitty costume as well.

If you can look past the finger in the nose, she makes a pretty cute lil pumpkin

The first thing we did was go into the Fantasea walk. It wasn't Halloween themed, but it was a special event for the holiday. There were lots of cute things and the kids had fun.

Calli received about a thousand compliments on her costume. Her shoes were a huge hit too! She makes the best witch ever!

Making our way onto Trick or Treat Street. This was a cute walk they set up with fake houses and people handing out candy and small gifts outside them.
Serena didn't quite know what to think of the mermaid
Getting candy...yum!
They got some light up ring thing

Getting ready to watch the Sesame Street Countdown to Halloween

And we ended out night with the Halloween Bash near the entrance. Calli was dancing away and it would have been fun to stay later but Jameson was SO tired and cranky, poor thing. We are hoping to go back one more time and see the Halloween forest during the Family Friendly hours.

Tomorrow is the pumpkin patch so stay tuned for more photos!
