Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the pumpkin patch. The last two years we have visited the same one and it was fun, but we decided to try a different one this year. Not only was it a little closer, but it was much better. There were more things for the kids to do and the activities were more fun as well.
We left the house around 11:30am and met a friend there too. We had a really great day, but it was definitely exhausting. I think we are all ready for a nap!!
Serena spotted the goats right away. She loves animals!
Alex and Calli getting up close and personal with the goats
We decided to eat lunch right away and afterward headed to the face painting. Calli wanted to get a kitty painted on her face.
Jameson having fun!
Serena the kitty!
I got them both to stand in a picture together, it's amazing!
The pumpkin patch is really a Christmas tree farm. I am highly disappointed by the Christmas tree farms here, but I don't know why I really expected anything. Texas isn't exactly known for their lush landscaping and forests.
The hay bale maze. Calli and Alex decided to cheat and climb OVER the bales.
Serena didn't want to go in at first, but Richard finally dragged her in there and she loved it.
Family photo while waiting for the hay ride. Of course Serena doesn't want to cooperate, why would she??

Serena on the hay ride. She did not want to sit still!
Jameson and me on the hay ride (Izzy too!)
After the hay ride we went over the park area. It was nice because there were big trees and it was very shaded. The sun here is so hot and it was literally about ten degrees cooler in the shade. It was nice to take a break. But then of course Calli wants to make "sand angels" and get all dirty!!
Serena just chillin'!
Serena playing the tunnel
Serena liked that goat that had climbed in the tree
Izzy, Calli and Alex holding hands. So sweet!

The kids on the porch swing out back
Time to roast marshmellows!
And of course then you have to eat them. I discovered there is less mess if you don't really toast them. Just pretend and Serena doesn't know the difference ;)

We finished the day by buying little pumpkins and painting them. Calli put about a gallon of paint on hers.

Serena wanted to eat the pumpkin, yum!
But then she decided getting messy was more fun
