Books and Princess Parades

Serena LOVES reading. She is always bringing over books for us to read. Sometimes if I'm busy I'll tell her to bring them to Calli to have her "read" them (some books Calli has memorized, otherwise she'll make up the words). We have this one very special book that was made for the kids by Richard's Oma and Opa. It is The Night Before Christmas and it is a recordable book and Opa recorded himself reading the story. Each time a page is turned the sound automatically clicks on and there is his voice reading the words on the page. This is probably Serena's favorite book lately. She doesn't have to have anyone read it to her, all she has to do is open it up and listen. At first she used to pick it up and run up to Calli or me saying "Opa, Opa". Calli would tell her "just open the book, Serena and Opa will read it to you". I think she has the hang of it now. So here are the girls both enjoying one of the best Christmas presents we've ever received.
Saturday we had a fun day. Disney Stores put on regular events for kids and this Saturday was a Princess themed party. The girls dressed up in their princess outfits and went to learn how to be princesses. They showed them how to curtsy, how to drink tea with their pinkies in the air and other things that I can't remember. When they learned each of the activities they received a sticker on the crown and when they had all the stickers they had officially graduated. Then they had a parade around part of the mall and back to the store to enjoy cookies and juice.

The girls held hands almost the entire time. It is so sweet how Calli really looks after her little sister in public.

I think Jameson and Daddy really enjoyed it too!
