Christmas at Sea World

Every year Sea World puts up Christmas decorations and invites everyone for the festivities. They start the day after Thanksgiving and continue through January I believe. There are quite a few fun things to do, especially if you have kids. One suggestion to Sea World: ICE SKATING! (oh and not closing the gift stands because some of us would like to purchase specialty items being sold or get our faces painted!!). Anyway, we have season passes so we decided to take advantage of this free fun on Sunday. We got to the park at 10:45, just after the first Santa meeting had ended. I was so mad!! We decided to go to the 4-D theater to see a condensed version of The Polar Express with those awesome 4-D glasses they give you (they are really stylish). On the way Calli wanted to stop and ride the Shamu roller coaster and since there was absolutely no line we went on that. In fact, the place was pretty dead until early afternoon when it picked up a little, but was still much less crowded than I'd expected. I guess it is the holidays and not really peak Sea World time. Although, I PREFER to visit Sea World now versus in the 100 degree heat of the summers. It is just way too hot to be walking around and we all drip with sweat and get tired...yeah, super fun times! In the fall and winter the weather is much more suitable for all the walking around and we were able to enjoy ourselves much more.

We made it the 4-D theater and saw the 11:30am showing of the movie. Calli had her glasses off for most of it because these things tend to scare her. At the end of the movie "soap snow" came down from the ceiling and the kids had fun playing in that.

Soap snow!!
When we were done with that we headed for lunch. Our whole day was pretty much planned around the 1pm Sesame Street holiday show (why Sea World, why do you only have this show playing twice a day??). We had a good lunch at one of the restaurants at the park and then headed to the ampitheater for the Christmas show. We got pretty good seats about ten rows back. A few minutes into these shows the kids get up and crowd up front in the space below the stage. They all dance along and interact with the characters and it's pretty cute. Calli loves to go up there but Serena wanted to just stay with us. She loves Elmo right now so she really enjoyed the show.

Waiting for the show to start
Can you spot Calli? She is under Zoe's left foot!
After the show ended it was 1:30pm and the next Santa appearance was scheduled to be over by 2pm. Could we walk halfway across the park in time to meet the jolly fellow? Heck yeah if I am pushing the stroller!! We got there with lots of time to spare and the line was super short. Calli asked why Santa's suit was a different color than normal and why he was wearing a crown (why Sea World, why couldn't you have the normal Santa there??). Jameson and Calli were happy to sit on his lap, but Richard brought Serena close and a wail of protest left her mouth like I knew it would. The person taking the photos told us to just hop in as well so it turned into a family Santa photo. I love it!!
We said goodbye to Santa and made our way through the FantaSea exhibit; an underwater themed trail with lots of fun photo opportunities. We met with a Christmas-y sea lion, shark and the best one of all: Shamu Santa!! Again Serena wasn't having anything to do with it so we have a great photo of Calli sitting on his lap and Richard holding Serena (Jameson was passed out in the stroller by this point).

More soap snow!

After visiting FantaSea the girls took off holding hands and being sweet. Sisters are so awesome!
Taking a break
Next it was off to the kiddie rides to have some fun. Calli and Serena were both able to go on one of the rides and went through the line three or four times. They loved it!
Jameson woke up from his nap all happy!

We took in some Christmas carolers at Mango Joe's Cafe and finished the day playing in the huge sandbox. On the way out we posed for some photos next to the Christmas tree. We all had so much fun!

yes evan drooled a lot too! Elaina is such a little peanut.. But she is long. She just started eating cereal.. My doctor told me to wait till she was 6 months to start cereal because she is breastfed and he wanted her to get all the antibodies she could since its a bad flu season.. But she was so interested in food that I started about a week ago and she loves it! Ive also tried peas and apples.. She does not like the peas, but I will try again. I want to start working out not to lose weight. But to be able to build my self up so im not always out of breath. lol. Ive lost so much weight while breast feeding people have said I look too thin. But I cant even walk up the stairs without being out of breath. So my cardiologist wants me to start doing a stair master and work my way up to running
